INTERMAT launch for Volvo ECR short radius excavators
D-series upgrades have been applied to the short radius ECR145D and ECR235D excavators
Volvo’s D-series upgrades have been applied its short radius 14 and 21tonne excavators.
In addition to their operating weights, the ECR145D and ECR235D differ in their engine types – the smaller model getting a four-cylinder 84kW engine, while the larger model gets six-cylinder power rated at 129kW. Both engines are stage IIIB emissions compliant.
Cab space and comfort, often a compromise on this type of excavator, has not been overlooked, said Volvo. The Swedish maker said the rounded shape of the new ECR cab is designed to stay within the rear swing radius, and remains the roomiest and most comfortable in the market. Narrow pillars and large glass areas combine to offer good all-round visibility.
