Plans are being drawn up in Indonesia for a new road tunnel project, with construction planned to commence in 2021. The tunnel will feature parallel tubes and is expected to cost US$231 million to construct. It will measure 7km, making it one of the longest road tunnels in Indonesia. The tunnel will form part of the 96km Bengkulu-Lubuk Linggau tolled highway, which is being built in three main sections. The three sections of the tolled route are from Lubuk Linggau to Kepahiang, from Taba Penanjung to Bengkulu and from Kepahiang to Taba Penanjung. In all, the Bengkulu-Lubuk Linggau toll road is costing US$2.186 billion.
