MAN offers HydroDrive on more trucks
MAN continues to develop its hydraulically driven front axle for trucks. Called HydroDrive, this optional powertrain development is suited to occasional off-road driving and is becoming more widely available on the firm’s truck range.
HydroDrive can now be specified on TGS and TGX truck ranges using the D20 and D26 engines, in combination with the TipMatic – the firm’s auto-shifting manual transmission. MAN said on- and off-road gear shifting programs are available, with the driver able to activate HydroDrive from a switch, while on the move.
The system switches off automatically above a speed of 28km/h, and re-engages without driver intervention when the speed drops below 23km/h.
