Road assessments are important to municipalities and engineering firms for measuring and managing their pavement conditions. Traditional methods of road assessments are unfortunately resource and time intensive, and the ratings assigned are often subjective. While critical individual road distresses like potholes may be noted during manual road assessments, there are several other types of individual distresses that may not get the time and attention they deserve- and therefore do not get proactively managed.
