Leica Geosystems has announced further cooperation with Autodesk to streamline construction documentation.

A new laser scanning tool from Leica Geosystems offers accurate and fast 3D imaging laser scanning capabilities. The Leica BLK360 is said to be compact and easy to use, offering powerful spherical image capture duties. The firm says that the unit allows professionals to capture 360° imagery within minutes.

Advanced software from 3D Repo offers additional support for some of the leading packages used within engineering and construction sectors, such as Autodesk Navisworks. This updated, cloud-based BIM collaboration platform provides improved support for large 3D models used in infrastructure projects. According to Autodesk, its latest Civil 3D Bridge Module allows for efficient modelling of bridges and bridge components. The package is used in conjunction with Civil 3D and or Revit as an add-on module and allows the modelling of bridges for placement based on AutoCAD Civil 3D roadway geometry and surfaces. Topcon Positioning Group has updated the MAGNET suite of software solutions to ensure customers have the most up-to-date information available. MAGNET v3.0 includes several new and enhanced features designed to increase interconnectivity and productivity. Among the improvements are user notifications that new data is available, said Ronald Verheijen, Topcon manager of product support.

Topcon Europe Positioning is offering upgrades to its MAGNET software products, which have benefited from the firm’s recent tie-up with Autodesk.
