The UK’s TRL body is now a corporate member of the IRF Geneva

As recently announced by the Chair of 1201 IRF Geneva, Kiran Kapila, “we are pleased to welcome TRL, the UK’s Transport Research Laboratory, to the IRF family. With its wide-ranging and global road-related research activities, TRL represents a true asset to the IRF membership. We are excited at the prospect of working closely with TRL towards a world of safe, sustainable and efficient roads and road networks.”

With over 80 years of knowledge and experience embedded in its history, TRL’s vision is to meet modern transport challenges and provide global solutions fit for the 21st century.

777 TRL International Business Director, Dr Jacquie Berry, echoed Kapila’s enthusiasm regarding the potential synergies and is also looking forward to fruitful collaboration, “TRL shares many work areas with IRF including road safety and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and the development of sustainable transport solutions. We have already participated in IRF workshops in Marrakech and Barbados and are keen to share our knowledge with IRF experts in their global effort to reduce casualties and create more sustainable transport systems.”
