Amomatic, a Finnish asphalt plant manufacturer specialising in modular batch-type plants since the 1960s, has been commissioning three asphalt plants simultanesously. Amomatic, which exhibited at bauma in Munich in April, said all of these will be helping their clients meet their asphalt production needs during the spring.

Finnish Asphalt Plant manufacturer Amomatic has developed a cloud-based system for recording where and when asphalt loads are delivered. Two contractors – one in Finland and one in Estonia – are already using AmoTrack. “You can see where each batch was placed, what the temperature was,” said Michael Gardias, sales and business development, Africa. The information is entered via a touchscreen system which Amomatic has designed so that drivers find it easy to use.

Amomatic has developed an asphalt plant that is totally containerised - while other suppliers offer this capability for most of their plants, the Finnish manufacturer has ensured that every single piece is supplied in standard shipping containers. “What’s different about our plant is that all of it fits in certified shipping containers,” said Amomatic’s Michael Gardias, sales and business development, Africa. “That means they are treated as standard containers, not special items so the transportation costs
