Kazakhstan road construction contracts awarded

Kazakhstan’s key construction contracts for road works have been awarded.

Important new road construction works will be carried out in Kazakhstan. The works form part of a wider plan by the Kazakhstan to improve transport links in the country, aimed at helping to develop economic activity.

One project is for a new bypass for the town of Saryagash. The work is expected to cost US$436.5 million. Construction is due to commence in 2021 and is expected to take until 2024 to complete.

A local contractor, Bazis Construction, will build a major interchange in Almaty. The project is expected to cost $55.4 million. The work will include a tunnel stretch measuring 570m as well as an overpass measuring 783m.
