Sichuan and Hainan Province in China will see major road network developments

In China’s Sichuan Province the city of Mianyang intends to invest over US$1 billion in its transportation network during 2012. The investment will be split between rural road construction, national-provincial trunk highway construction and highway construction. The plans also call for 800km of rural roads and 200km roads between townships and counties. Meanwhile some $2.23 billion will be invested by China's Hainan authority for tourist road development by 2015. The authority expects tourist roads in the province will reach a total length of 679km by the year. In addition, Fugu county in China's Shaanxi province plans to invest $666 million in transportation projects during 2012. Of this a considerable percentage will be spent on rural road construction projects and on highway projects.
