Work is now commencing for the US$298 million Daejeodaegyo Bridge Construction Project in Busan, South Korea. The 8.23km bridge will provide a new link between Samrak-dong in Sasang-gu and Sikman-dong in Gangseo-gu.

The project has been planned for some time and completion is planned for 2029. The new route will feature two lanes in either direction and is being built to meet strict environmental legislation.
Construction of the link will help the development of Busan, cutting chronic congestion and speeding commuting, while meeting growth targets for the city.

Spanning the Nakdonggang River, the new bridge is being in such a way as to protect the environment of the area and so as not to threaten local flora and fauna, protected bird species in particular.
