Tecnoidea Impianti has just provided a state-of-the-art filter press to a major Strabag quarry in Switzerland
Italian water and sludge treatment plant manufacturer 7274 Tecnoidea Impianti has just completed an €800,000 contract for 945 Strabag’s Bürglen quarry near Zurich, Switzerland.
As part of the joint venture project also involving Binder, Kisa, CAB and ASE Technik, Tecnoidea installed a 1.6m diameter, 80 plate high beam filter press capable of producing 200tonnes/day of wastewater sludge cake when working in conjunction with the site’s 200tonnes/hour aggregates washing plant.
It represents the latest example of what has been a successful trading period for Tecnoidea in the Germany, Switzerland and Austria regions, where it’s represented by the Metcam dealership.
But as Matteo Parolini, Tecnoidea’s process engineer points out, there are wider sales opportunities available for the ambitious company.
“The European market is asking for more filter presses, especially where a site has previously had a big lagoon. Governments are saying that from now on building material producers must not waste water. You must recover it with a settling tank and filter press. In Germany, for example, producers are being fined 1 cent for each cubic metre of waste water. The goal is to save space as well as recycle as much water as possible.”
Parolini said he had been impressed with the seriousness of interest in Tecnoidea solutions during bauma 2016. “It’s been amazing. There’s been some serious interest in our filter presses and a lot of visitors to our stand. Metcam has been very good in helping with this. We are very satisfied with them.”
