Volvo unwraps the new look L350H

7659 Volvo Construction Equipment (CE) literally took the wraps off its redesigned L350H wheel loader at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. With Volvo president and CEO Martin Lundstedt and Volvo CE president Martin Weissberg in attendance - and in front of a large crowd of visitors at its stand - the company pulled the curtains away from the upgraded machine.

Flagship of the Volvo wheel loader range, the L350H features a 10% improvement in fuel efficiency and comes with a new powertrain, new hydraulics and new operator environment. A Tier 4 Final D16J engine gives high torque at low rpm, while closer operation between the load-sensing hydraulic system and drivetrain increase operation response times, as well as the lifting and lowering speed of the newly-designed larger buckets.

Increased clearance between the rear fenders and tyres allows greater access when fitting tyre chains, thereby reducing the risk of damage to the body of the machine.

The wheel loader features the Volvo fully-automatic power shift system, which helps ensure operation in the optimal, fuel-efficient gear according to speed, kick-down and engine braking. An 'eco-pedal' with a push-back mechanism engages when engine rpm is about to exceed the most economic operating range.
