Contracts for two major road construction projects worth a total of US$1.715 billion have been signed in Indonesia. Construction of the two new road links will improve transport in and around Indonesia’s current capital, Jakarta.

The two projects are for the Ancol Timur-Pluit Toll Road, also known as the Harbour Road II (HBR II), and for Section 6B of Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Road.

The HBR II project is worth $1.12 billion and is for a 9.6km stretch of road located in North Jakarta. The construction work will be handled by Wijaya Karya and Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada (CMNP).

Meanwhile, the project for Section 6B of the Cisumdawu route is worth $595.4 million. The work is being handled by Citra Karya Jabar Tol (CKJT) and Brantas Abipraya. The Cisumdawu Toll Road in West Jakarta will feature six stretches in all and extend for 61km.
