Construction of a new bridge costing US$353.3 million is planned for the city of Hanoi in Vietnam. The design work for the 820m Thuong Cat bridge project has been completed and it will be the 10th structure spanning The Red River.

The construction work is scheduled to begin in October 2024 and it is expected to be ready for traffic in 2027. The new Thuong Cat bridge will connect Dong Anh District with Bac Tu Liem District and will carry four lanes of traffic in either direction.

The bridge is expected to help reduce Hanoi’s chronic traffic congestion issues.
