Tender process for tunnel in Southern Germany

The tender process is underway for a new tunnel link in the Southern German state of Bavaria. The 2.9km tunnel project is planned as a bypass to improve traffic flow and is located near the Upper Bavarian municipality of Oberau, which lies to the south of Munich and close to the border with Austria. The estimated cost of the project has not yet been revealed however. The bidding process will be completed in 2015, with the projected then being awarded in the summer of 2015.
