Nigeria road project; funding approved

Funding has been approved for an important road project in Nigeria’s Ebonyi State. A US$70 million loan is being provided by the 1586 African Development Bank Group (AfDB) in partnership with the Africa Growing Together Fund (AGTF). Meanwhile the 2417 Islamic Development Bank (IDB) will provide $80 million, while the Ebonyi State Government is providing $17.6 million. In all, the project will cost $167.6 million to carry out and involves constructing a 178km highway, which is due for completion in 60 months.
