Sales success for auctions in Brisbane and Atlanta

214 Euro Auctions reports strong sales success at recent events it has run in Brisbane, Australia and Atlanta in the US. Both auctions showed customers keen to buy secondhand machines at healthy price levels according to the firm.

In Atlanta, Georgia, USA Euro Auctions continues to benefit from a good demand for used machines. Its recent plant, machinery and vehicle sale in Atlanta in late October achieved sales of US$2.72 million. This represented a 25% increase in revenue from the firm’s previous sale, while the number of bidder more than doubled to 795. The firm said that online bidding was also strong. Just over half of the total number of winning bids for lots being placed via the internet using either Euro Auctions’ own site or on the popular ProxiBid or Equipment Facts auction sites.

In Brisbane meanwhile the firm’s sale of plant and machinery sale held at its Pinkenba facility near Brisbane saw a total of 599 achieve a final hammer price of A$3.646 million.

This event attracted bidder and buyer interest from over 20 countries from as far afield as Europe and North America. Close to 80% of all registered bidders were Australian, with 120 successful buyers heralded from Queensland and a further 40 residing in New South Wales. The total number of local buyers also more than doubled over previous sales with 20% of all those registering being first time participants.  

However, around 60% of participants chose to take part in the sale online although they only accounted for around a third of the total hammer price. Over 60% of the winning bidders attended the sale in person.

Looking to 2017 the next scheduled sale at the site near Brisbane will be on 23 February and there is a one day sale in Atlanta USA on 23 March. Other upcoming events comprise; a three day sale in Leeds in the UK between 25-27 January; one in Dormagen in Germany on 8-9 February; in Dromore in Northern Ireland on 17-18 February; and Zaragoza in Spain on 15 March.
