Italian access equipment specialist Barin has supplied one of its novel ABCLS units to a customer in Germany. The underbridge inspection machine is being used by rental firm Theo in Tecklenburg. Barin previously supplied two similar units for bridge inspection to Germany, with one being bought by Munich-Kirchheim firm Roggermaier Arbeitsbuhnen and another by Berlin company Easy Lift. Versatile and compact this latest machine has been mounted on a Mercedes Axor 1829 truck chassis with a GVW of 18tonnes.
Approval has been given for a US$108 million flyover project for Bangladesh. This 8.25km structure will run from Satrasta to Shantinagar via Mauchak, Moghbazar and Malibagh.

PERI says that its new VST heavy-duty shoring tower serves as load-bearing scaffold for the large bridge and civil engineering projects. Each leg on the VST (VARIOKIT Shoring Tower) system can carry a load of around 600kN (the weight of about 60 VW Golf cars or one Leopard-2 tank), and the extremely flexible modular system can be assembled as segmental sections, towers or shoring tower frames for heights up to 40m.
Portuguese contractor Mota-Engil Group has been awarded the construction of a 270km Douro Interior Highways project in the north-east of Portugal, one of the longest highway projects ever awarded in the country.
