Construction is well underway for the new toll road Section IV that will link Betung with Jambi in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The work will improve transport between Kelurahan Tempino and Kelurahan Pijoan and is being managed by PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur. As part of the project, the new Underpass Bridge has been erected as well as a rest area for drivers.
This new stretch of road will also connect to the tolled Betung-Jambi Section III, which started operation in the third quarter of 2024. The project will help speed transport and reduce journey times in South Sumatra. Of note is the fact that the engineering team is using sophisticated laser scanning and 3D modelling tools to carry out the project efficiently and to deliver a higher quality, longer lasting road.
Work is also underway on the new toll road linking Betung, Tempino and Jambu. This 170km route is being built in four stretches and should be complete by the end of 2026.
