Mexico’s Secretariat of Communications and Transport (SCT) has unveiled its ambitious plan to spend US$12.53 billion on building or improving 8,115km of roads for 2024. SCT has targeted 51 major projects for key federal routes, with upgrading and maintenance works intended to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety. In addition, 53 new roads will be built in rural areas at an estimated cost of $910 million.
