It has taken 23 years to complete the A465 road upgrade in Wales. Work for this 45km dual carriageway has cost £2 billion.

The Heads of the Valleys road project has caused enormous disruption in the area since work commenced and locals are finally getting to use the stretch of road that has been the cause of so many traffic woes.

The new route will reduce journey times for drivers between South Wales and the Midlands in England. However, there has been criticism over how long the work has taken as well as the cost.
