New emissions technology for latest John Deere engines
Innovative emissions control technology is a key feature of the latest diesel from 257 John Deere Power Systems (JDPS). These engines range in capacity from 2.9-13.5litres and meet the Tier 4 Final/Stage IV emissions requirements. The firm says that extensive testing shows the diesels are responsive, reliable and have low running costs. The company has continued with developing its Integrated Emissions Control system to meet the emissions targets, with the technology including various combinations of aftertreatment and emissions-reduction components. The integrated Emissions Control system configurations have been tailored to meet regulations and customer needs in each power range. John Deere is offering three Integrated Emissions Control system configurations for the Tier 4 Final/Stage IV requirements. Forthe 36-55kW power range, the copmany is offering engine models using an exhaust filter that contains a diesel oxidation catalyst/diesel particulate filter (DOC/DPF) without cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) or selective catalytic reduction (SCR). For the 56-104kW range, the 3089 PowerTech PWL 4.5L engine is equipped with cooled EGR and an Integrated Emissions Control system configured with SCR and a DOC. Engines delivering 93kW or more feature an Integrated Emissions Control system comprising cooled EGR, a DOC/DPF and SCR. All John Deere Integrated Emissions Control system configurations are designed to meet the demands of off-highway applications.
