Trevi is carrying out the work for the third lane on the Florence South to Incisa section of the A1 route on behalf of Amplia in Italy.  The most significant part of the work is the execution of the bored piles for the construction of the portals of the entrances to the new San Donato tunnel and the slope-supporting bulkheads, all with a diameter of 1,200mm and depths varying from 22-30m. Additional works consist of plastic secant piles with a diameter of 920mm and a depth of approximately 18m and also tie-rods for approximately 44,000m.

In order to perform the work, Trevi is using a fleet of Soilmec equipment consisting of an SR-35, an SR-45, an SR-75, an SR-100 and an SM-21 for tie-rods. The machines have been proving both reliable and productive for the work, while also delivering the quality required.
