Work is now underway on an important highway project in Pakistan. The Rawalpindi Ring Road project was inaugurated officially by Pakistan’s prime minister, Imran Khan.

The project is of note as it has been planned for many years. Construction work for the route had been delayed due to a series of issues.

The new highway project is costing over US$134 million and the route will feature three lanes in either direction as well as four interchanges. The work is being carried out by Frontier Works Organisation (FWO).
