Groundbreaking has commenced for a new tolled highway connecting Suchitepequez and Retalhuleu in Guatemala. The route will extend 31km and should be ready for traffic in late 2025. By the end of 2024, the stretch linking San Antonio Suchitepequez with Santo Domingo should be ready for traffic.

The project is costing US$154 million. The work is being carried out by contractor Fondo BPS. This project is one of several road infrastructure works in Guatemala as the country has major plans to develop its network.
