New highway projects are now going ahead in China. A US$1.07 billion highway will connect Yongjing and Jingping. The 41km highway is designed for travel speeds of 80km/h with two lanes in either direction. The design for the project has gained official approval from the Gansu Department of Transport (DoT).

In Qinghai Province construction of the G0612 expressway has resumed. The $824.5 million project is for the Huangyuan to Xihai stretch of the Xining-Hetian Expressway.

Meanwhile, tendering is underway for work to improve the G15 route connecting Ningbo, Taizhou and Wenzhou. Upgrading of the G15 highway is expected to cost $2.3 billion.
